Welcome to the Rocky Fork Elementary Health Office!

Welcome to the Rocky Fork Elementary Health Office!

My name is Amy Butler RN, MSN, BSN.  I went to Nursing School at MTSU and graduated in 2002 with my Bachelor's in Science. I also completed my Master's in Nursing Education from Western Kentucky University in 2012. I have been a nurse for 17 years, always in the pediatric setting.

I started my career at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.  This unit was a 36 bed ICU caring for all kids 0-18+ with all medical needs. I cared for kids with burns, heart surgeries, car wrecks, respiratory illnesses, cancer, and any other reason a child would need the ICU. In 2010, we split into a Medical and Cardiac ICU, and I stayed in the Cardiac ICU. I served as a charge nurse from 2005 until my departure in 2019. I served in several other capacities within that unit including the educator role and the Clinical Staff Leader role.

I was excited to switch gears to the school setting when I came in September of 2018. I was based at Homer Pittard Campus School and Smyrna West for the 2018-2019 school year. I came to Rocky Fork Elementary School for the inaugural 2019-2020 school year.
